The Massachusetts Department of Education recently released MCAS scores from spring 2012 that show Sharon students on the whole out-performing the state's numbers, according to results as posted on Boston.com.
For English Language Arts, 87 percent of students in all grades tested achieved "proficient or higher", 37 percent achieved "advanced", 50 percent achieved "proficient" and 9 percent achieved "needs improvement", according to numbers from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website.
For Math, 80 percent achieved "proficient or higher", 51 percent achieved "advanced", 29 percent achieved "proficient" and 14 percent achieved "needs improvement".
And for Science and Technical Engineering, 78 percent achieved "proficient or higher", 38 percent achieved "advanced", 40 percent achieved "proficient" and 17 percent achieved "needs improvement".
