Scituate High School defeated visiting Sharon, 62-38, in a 2012 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Basketball South Division 2 first round game Wednesday night, according to the tournament website.
The loss ends the Eagles' season. Sharon finishes at 11-11, including 1-1 in the state tourney. The 17th-seeded Eagles defeated host Silver Lake Regional, 50-28, in a preliminary round game Monday night.
No. 1 Scituate will host No. 8 Notre Dame in a quarter-final game Friday night. Notre Dame defeated No. 9 Holliston, 54-43, in a first round game Wednesday night, according to the tournament website.
