Nominate Sharon's Person of the Year

If you know someone who made the town of Sharon a better place in the last 12 months, nominate him or her today.

As we head towards the end of 2012, we're looking for Sharon residents to weigh in on who they think stood out most this year.

By sending an email to SharonPatch@patch.com, tell us about a fellow community member who impressed you with his or her dedication to the area.

At Patch, we know it's important to pause and recognize the community members who make the neighborhood a better place, each and every day. Who contributed time and effort to planning that great event, or helping out a fellow resident in tough times? Maybe it's that person's positive spirit that impacts the community. Perhaps the person you're thinking of performs one of those "thankless" jobs we just can't live without.

No matter the reason, we'd like to hear about him or her, so go ahead and nominate a person using the form below.

Be sure to let us know by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20. At that time, we will take the suggestions and ask readers to weigh in on the nominations. We'll announce the 2012 Sharon Patch Person of the Year soon after.

I nominate William Fowler, Finance Director for the Town of Sharon. No one puts in more hours and has more diverse duties at Town Hall. He is the glue that holds things together. Mr. Fowler strives to do what is best for the Town even if the job is unpopular or controversial. His is one of those thankless jobs that has to be done. He does it with dedication and tirelessly. I am not related to him or close to him personally but have had a bird's eye view on a part time basis of this man's contributions.
