Residents with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers might receive increased support in Sharon.
The Sharon Adult Center and the Jewish Family & Children's Service surveyed interest in having a Parkinson's resource, networking and support group here Monday.
The survey followed a Parkinson's talk co-sponsored by the JF & CS's Parkinson's Family Support Program, and the adult center.
"We would start small if there's enough interest, and see what the group would like," program director Nancy Mazonson told the crowd, about 25 people, in the adult center.
Adult center Activities Coordinator Marsha Books said the two agencies have worked together over the past year to present various programs.
"We hope this will turn into future programs," Books said.
Based in Waltham, JF & CS offers support groups, a therapeutic choral group and other services.
Monday, Dr. David Rintell presented a slideshow on "Strengthening Your Resilience: Living, Loving and Thriving with Parkinson's Disease" at the Sharon Adult Center.
Rintell is a clinical instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and has given Parkinson's talks to patients and families throughout New England.
