Massachusetts Getting More State Troopers

251 recruits are the first new ones since 2006, Globe reports.

Motorists using Route 1 and Interstate 95 in Sharon could see new state troopers before long.

State Police are training 251 recruits, their first new ones since 2006, The Boston Globe reports today.

"People will see more police officers on the road," Colonel Marian McGovern, State Police superintendent, told the Globe.

"We’re going to be able to take care of the issues that have been important to us all along, and that's aggressive drivers out there, impaired operators, and distracted operators."
