Sharon Lakeside Concert Series Opens With Variety of Music

Professor Louie and The Cromatix perform here Wednesday night.

The band opening this summer's Sharon Lakeside Concerts series is in the Internatonal Blues Hall of Fame New York Chapter.

Labeling Professor Louie & The Crowmatix strictly a blues band would be wrong, though.

"We fit into a lot of American music genres," says Aaron "Professor Louie" Hurwitz.

The band opens the Wednesday night series at the Veteran's Memorial Park bandstand at 7 p.m. July 11. organized the series for the Sharon Recreation Department.

The band's playlist will include "music from the '30s up to now," including tunes from "Wings On Fire," the CD it released last month, Hurwitz says.

The CD is "a varied mix" of selections, he says.

All shows will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Rain will move a show to the Sharon Community Center.
