Lightning Strikes Twice In Sharon On Saturday

Lightning struck twice in Sharon on Saturday morning.
The morning thunderstorm generated a report at 9:27 a.m. of a lightning strike at Walpole Street and Old Post Road, according to the Sharon Police log. And at 10:50 a.m., someone reported lightning struck a tree on Essex Road.
Meanwhile, police arrested six people -- four for operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs -- over the past two weeks.
The OUI arrests happened as follows: Sunday, July 10 at 2:56 a.m., at North Main Street and Rhodes Avenue; Saturday, July 16 at 3:13 a.m., at Bayberry Road at North Main Street; Saturday, July 16 at 7:45 p.m., on South Walpole Street; and Sunday, July 17 at 1:28 a.m., on Pond Street.
In the Pond Street incident, police had received an E-911 call reporting a motor vehicle had crashed into their yard.
The other two arrests were: Wednesday, July 13 at 8:21 p.m., arrested an adult at North Main Street and Bay Road. No charges were listed in the log; and Thursday, July 21 at 2:51 p.m., police arrested an adult on a warrant.
