How Will You Take Advantage of the Tax-Free Weekend?

Residents of Massachusetts once again will have the chance this weekend to spend to their heart's content without worrying about the normal 6.25 percent sales tax.
The tax-free holiday will run from Saturday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 12, and will allow customers of most retail outlets the chance to stock up on items without the added sales tax. Excluded from the tax holiday are restaurant meals, cars, motorboats, tobacco and any item that costs more than $2,500.
Massachusetts was one of 17 states in the country to offer a sales tax holiday in 2011, and, with the exception of 2009, the state has held a tax holiday every summer for the past nine years.

We did shopping last weekend, when most stores were honoring the tax free sale, and didnt have to deal with the crowds that this weekend will have!

I went to Burger King in Easton last night around 9PM and order two items off the dollar menu and was charged tax. I thought that maybe food was excluded. I wonder how many other people didn't notice. I'm curious where that money would go now...

Yes, restaurant meal tax was an exception to the tax free weekend, as were cars, motorboats, tobacco and anything that cost over $2,500.
