"Five Things You Need To Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

1. Help with the schools' strategic planning

The Sharon public schools has a strategic planning focus group scheduled for 7 p.m. in the school committee meeting room at Sharon Middle School. The steering committee seeks feedback about the strengths and weaknesses of the school district, as well as the vision, mission, and goals that should guide the Sharon public schools for the next several years.

2. Enjoy bagels and books

A PJ Library Bagels and Books Drop-in Group will be offered from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday at Temple Sinai of Sharon.

Grab a bagel, hear a story and meet other parents while your children socialize. The sessions are ongoing except for school vacations. The sessions are geared for children ages 0 to 5 years, with an adult. The program is free and open to the community.

3. Attend a Tu B'Shevat Parent Child Craft

The Community Kollel of Sharon co-sponsors a Tu B'Shevat Parent Child Craft for ages 3 to 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Sharon Public Library's Cynthia B. Fox Community Room. Pre-registration is required.

4. Play Cribbage

The Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging offers Cribbage from 1 to 3 p.m.

5. Play Mah Jongg

The Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging offers Mah Jongg from 1 to 4 p.m.
