Five Things You Need to Know Today, Feb. 22

"Five Things You Need To Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

1. Learn about theater

The opening reception for "Reflections," an exhibit featuring work by Vera Cross, Karen Gordon and Sheila Pallay, is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lakeside Gallery at the Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging.

The exhibit features various media by Cross, watercolors by Gordon and photographs by Pallay. Cross and Gordon will display 13 pieces each.

Refreshments will be served. Visitors may meet the artists, discuss their work, ask questions and support the arts.

2. Attend a Lenten prayer circle

A Lenten prayer circle will take place from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sharon. There will be a time of reflection, prayer and songs as the  Lenten season begins.

3. Practice English

An English for Speakers of Other Languages conversation group meets from 10 a.m. to noon in the Sharon Public Library's Cynthia B. Fox Community Room.

4. Support the Sharon High School varsity boys basketball team

The Sharon High School varsity boys basketball team hosts Falmouth at 3 p.m.

5. Work on your memoirs

The Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging offers memoir writing from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
