Fifth Grade Section Added at Sharon's Cottage Street School
Additional students expected this fall.
Sharon's Cottage Street School will have a new, fourth section of fifth grade this fall due to growing enrollment.
The change won't require additional spending, School Superintendent Timothy Farmer told the school committee Wednesday night.
The board approved a final budget of $36,947,797 for the fiscal year starting July 1.
Farmer said some additional students are expected at Cottage, "unrelated to the whole issue of redistricting."
"I think we knew when we created the sections that fifth grade was tight across the board, Cottage in particular," Chairman Laura Salomons said.
