Eagles Girls Basketball Moves Closer to State Tourney

Sharon defeats D-R, 48-39.

The Sharon High School varsity girls basketball team moved closer to a state tournament spot Tuesday night, defeating visiting Dighton-Rehoboth, 48-39, head coach Kate Horsmann said.

"Karlie O'Driscoll led the team with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, 5 blocks and 3 assists. Lily Abarbanel added 12 points and 2 steals," she said.

"Katie Lowerre had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals and did a great job boxing out taller players the entire game. Anne Fritzson played great defense on D-R's leading scorer holding her to 4 second half points."

The Eagles (8-8) now need two wins in their last four games to qualify for the state tourney.

Sharon travels to Attleboro at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Hockomock Crossover Classic, Athletic Director Robert Sondheim said today. The Eagles then host Burncoat at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Sharon will celebrate its Senior Night before the game.
