Age Limit for Tobacco Sales to Increase in Sharon This Month

A regulation voted on April 8 will prohibit anyone younger than 21 to buy tobacco in town; the move also bans smoking in membership associations and private clubs.

Starting Sunday, May 19, anyone under the age of 21 will not be able to purchase tobacco products in Sharon.

The Sharon Board of Health voted Monday, April 8, to raise the age of sale for tobacco products from 18 to 21 years.

The new regulation put in place increases the purchasing age of tobacco and nicotine products - including E-cigarettes, nicotine delivery products and non-residential roll your own machines - to 21 years of age.
