5 Things, Sept. 10: School Committee Approves Strategic Plan, Trader Joe's Opens

National Weather Service Forecast: Skies will be partly sunny today with a high near 71 degrees.

1. The Sharon School Committee unanimously approved the district strategic plan for 2012-2017 at its meeting on Sept. 5, according to the Sharon Public School website. The Committee will meet again on Sept. 19.

2. Fans of Trader Joe's now only need to drive a short distance to shop at the grocery store, as a new branch just opened up at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

3. There's been lots of discussion on President Obama and the Democratic Convention this past week. What are your thoughts?

4. Railroad parking passes are now available for the Sharon Commuter Rail station for Oct. 1-Dec. 31.

5. School Notes: Parents and athletes in Sharon take note: Online registration is now open for the 2012-2013 Sharon Youth Lacrosse Season. The Sharon Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization is holding its annual Magazine Drive from Sept. 12-25 this year.
