Mr. Post, a retired technical writer for the insurance industry and a resident of Sharon for over 50 years, is survived by his wife, Rita J. (Johnson); children, Mark Post of Canton, Mary Decker of Newton, Andrew Post of Sharon, Robert Post of Sharon, John Post of Dedham, Judy Proia of West Roxbury and Janice Post of Wellesley; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Post also worked for FM Global and at Woods Hole as an oceanographer. 

Visiting hours were held at the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home in Canton on Sept. 20 followed by a Latin Mass of Christian burial in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church in Newton. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery Canton.
