Sharon resident and Channel 7 reporter Byron Barnett came to the East Elementary School to read his favorite Dr. Seuss book, "Cat in the Hat," during "Read Across America," the National Educators Association's annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, Dr. Seuss' birthday.

The whole school assembled in the gym to listen to Barnett read. After the story was finished, students were invited to find a comfortable spot and read in the gym.
